The entrance zone for the new VW/Audi factory functions not only as an official entrance, car park and bus station, but more importantly a storm water retention basin. The 18 hectare large entrance zone has a 12m height difference and drains towards the factory. Already during the construction phase, floods restricted or totally stopped the work. Our design used the height difference and earth molding to slow and withhold the run-off so that the already installed storm water system could function.
